Best Race Experience?
Moritz CX 2003: Bad start left me at the back of the pack. I put my head down, raced as fast as I could, and clawed back 5 riders and ended up in 6th. place, getting nipped at the line in a two man sprint. It taught me a lot about the mental challenges of bike racing.
Other Interesting Facts:
Mike's other hobbies include raising money each year for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, woodworking, cooking, kayaking, running, and swimming. Mike moonlights as a triathlete but wears socks on team rides so he doesn't draw attention to himself. Mike is also a geologist who is more than willing to bore you with fun science facts while riding along the beautiful Central Texas scenery.
