The Team now has 4 Category 2 Road Racers!
These guys have earned the right to compete against the BEST racers in Texas and across the nation!

New Team Shorts/Bibs are here!!! These are red with the current REI wrap around, smooth lycra and the ultra chamois. Shorts will be 45 $ and bibs will be 55 $. Contact Cary.
Team Jersey Order will take place around November 8th. Delivery will be in January. This will be a short sleeve order only. The Jersey will have additional sponsors added but will be identical to the current jersey otherwise. The order will be mainly size Medium and Large. Send Cary a note to give him an indication as to what you may be needing and to reserve a jersey or jerseys (pay up front) when they come in.
A team equipment order will take place again this quarter. Start thinking about what you will need when James gives us the word on the message board. Contact: James Sides.

TMBRA spring season is over... We have 7 individuals sitting in top 10 places for thier categories!! The final TMBRA race was held at a new race venue in Valley Mills. The trail was new and in pretty good condition; some challenging sections, and some easy stuff too. Four REIder's raced: Hector Hernandez placed 1st in Sport 30-39; Noel Reuter place 15th in his first race as an Expert 30-39; Dawn Juarez placed 3rd in Wms Expert 40-99; and Anrea Liu fininshed 8th in Beginner 30-39 after having to fix a broken chain 3 times!! It was a fun season - We hope to bring bigger numbers in 2004 ! (Dawn)

May 10th 2003: REI Austin Cycling Team 6th in TXBRA ranking... Success at recent TXBRA events has moved us into 6th !!
REI Austin goes Interstate! A contingent of our team participated in the Tour of Gila stage race. Race reports will be linked to the web pages soon!
David James will be in California for the summer... Keep up the fitness and good luck at the job!
Travis Wilky is Back in Belgium!! Travis was chosen to race in Europe on an amateur cycling team ABC-Aitos with a huge opportunity to improve upon Euro racing knowledge and fitness.
The REI CX race was a success! Thanks to all the volunteers and especially James for running the show and Lance Armstrong for showing up to race!!
