3/4 race: ~35 min, 15 racers starting?
(Cary Smith, David James)
* Cary placed 1st in the 3's, second in the field sprint against Robbie
Robinette (CAT 2)!
* David finished off the back with Kevin Yeh.
My race report:
I'm just happy to get my racing legs back after my bout with bronchitis and
(more recently) food poisoning! This one hurt -- my stomach felt like it
was really to spew at any minute. I fell off the back, and then worked with
Kevin, alternating pulls. Kevin Yeh did a great acting job (heavy
breathing) and convinced me that he was worn out by the end. So I sprinted
from the last corner. It turned out to be too soon, and he came around.
This is a warning: don't fall for Kevin's shenanigans.

4/5 race: ~35 min, 30 racers starting?
Austin Connor, Hector Hernandez, James Sides, David James
* Austin placed 2nd overall, winning the field sprint. UT's Thomas Hallock
was off the front.
* James finished highly as well (4th or 5th). This was his first crit in a
year I believe and he said that he thought it was too easy. Good for you,
James!
* Hector and David rolled in for 15th and 16th or so. Hector's hairy legs
definitely cost him a few places.
My race report:
A good sized field with (big surprise!) several riders who can't hold a
line. Luckily there were no crashes, though a racer dropped out and then
later passed out from heat stroke. We had to stay left at the finish line
for many laps to stay clear of the ambulance.
REI, with four racers, kept a good presence at the front. Unfortunately we
let Thomas Hallock (UT) slip away. Afterwards, we sent some attacks in the
middle of the race; I went, then James took off a lap later. Hector kept
the pace high during the last several laps. No attacks really stuck, but
hopefully we tired out some other riders. We did something right, because
Austin won the field sprint!

Open Race: ~45 min? 10 racers starting?
Jeromie Payne, Jaime Slaughter, Cary Smith
* I think Jaime placed in the top 4?
* How did the other guys do?
* Everybody looked strong, with REI putting guys in most of the breaks.
